psychology is the science of human thought, behaviour and emotion. all that is thought, felt, and done is a possible topic for psychological study. psychology applies its knowledge to human activity in order to improve lives and alleviate suffering.

unb offers a broad spectrum of research areas in psychology, including: human sexuality, depression, feminist perspectives, autism, women’s studies, internet and gambling addictions, gender and laterality, pain assessment and management, infant and adolescent development, cultural psychology, self-concept and identity, bilingualism and cognitive neuroscience.

hands-on learning:
  • experiential learning through in-class exercises and small group tutorials
  • conduct and analyze innovative experiments in the department research lab
  • volunteer with community organizations, such as the 24-hour chimo helpline.
