sociology is the study of society. this program is designed for people who find themselves wondering about how social movements and norms develop, and are interested in topics like crime, aging, sexuality, human rights, health, or the environment. sociology will answer the students questions and give them a new lens for seeing the world around them.

unb prepares graduates for national and international careers in sociology. the faculty and related courses comprise a range of perspectives on historical and developing thoughts pertaining to social, political, human, and environmental issues.

hands-on learning:
  • nels anderson undergraduate society –a student-led organization that gathers donations for a number of different community agencies.
  • the faculty members are also researchers who are actively involved in the community
