students will gain a deeper understanding of how social media influences today's world, what happens to the information people share online, and technical, social and ethical considerations for digital design by studying the bachelor of arts in digital media and society.
graduates will also build practical skills through the creation of digital media products, from websites to animations, focusing on user needs and outcomes. with modules covering topics from data-driven storytelling to news analysis, they will delve into the power of digital media to shape public opinion and learn how to build compelling narratives from data within their research.
as students progress through their degree, they will specialize further in areas of their choice, such as health, protest and social change, or societal inequalities.
in the third year, graduates will draw on a strong conceptual and practical basis to apply their skills through the dissertation project, and have the opportunity to see theory in a live context with digital media work placements.
