the integrated masters in civil and structural engineering with a year in industry integrates a strong focus on analysis and design with the latest research on sustainable development – equipping students to tackle challenges in the built environment and innovative design solutions that minimize impact on the environment.

in years one and two graduates will concentrate on the core disciplines of structural engineering, water infrastructure engineering, fluid mechanics, and geotechnical mechanics, from both an analysis and design perspective.

the second half of the course follows more specialized and advanced structural engineering areas such as bridge engineering, multi-store building design, sustainability, geotechnics and students independent research project. the course challenges them to solve increasingly complex problems – building on their core knowledge, with specialist modules in the final year so that they will graduate as a skilled, competent and well-rounded engineer.
