program description
this emerging new field examines how the behaviour of individuals, groups, organisations and societies are influenced by technology. this course covers a wide range of areas, including education, entertainment, social media and cyber security.
this course, accredited by the bps, will help students develop a well-rounded knowledge of all areas of psychology. students will learn a range of research skills and methods to investigate traditional and online behaviour, and will be able to apply that knowledge in a variety of contexts – including conducting their own independent research.
students' learning will be based within the department of psychology where they'll have access to state-of-the art facilities such as eye tracking technology to help them understand how people, groups, organisations and societies interact with, and make use of, technology.
an optional 4-week or 30-week placement after the second year can add valuable industry experience to their cv, as well as enabling students to put their learning into practice. it will also give students the chance to begin building a valuable network of contacts - a vital part of getting their career off the ground.
