Progression Summary

program description

this bsc degree, accredited by the institution of environmental sciences, integrates the natural sciences and examines how a wide range of factors can affect the environment.

students will discover that practical experience forms a major part of this course, gained through fieldwork, lab work, computing, data analysis, report writing, and work placements. if they decide to complete a three-year degree, they will do two five-week periods in industry, whereas those joining the four year course can experience at least 30-weeks in a real world working environment, with a range of local, national and international companies and institutions.

this degree has been developed to give students a solid overview in the discipline of environmental science, as well as looking at how humans shape the world and how humanity can tackle the issues that arise from this. in addition to covering specialist theory, this degree’s highly practical element seeks to equip students with a host of transferable skills essential for finding employment after they graduate, or alternatively, for progressing on to masters courses and completing further research.

students in the life and environmental sciences work in partnership with staff to co-create featured projects, collaborating with professional practitioners and also assisting with individual placement opportunities.
