the integrated accelerator program is a two-semester program designed specifically for high-achieving, bilingual international students who want direct enrolment into their degree program but also want the academic, cultural, professional, and linguistic support they need to thrive at auburn university. the program features a robust advising and mentorship component, as well as priority access to the most exclusive, in-demand courses. upon completion of the program, students progress into year two of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

the department of foreign languages & literatures equips well-rounded students for entry into the global community. a b.a. in french broadens students’ understanding of society through cultural exchange in french and provides them with communication skills, linguistic dexterity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. these cultural insights and practical tools help graduates find their place in today’s competitive, multilingual marketplace.

diverse course offerings range from basic-intermediate-advanced language studies and traditional linguistics and literature courses to topic-driven courses in film, cultural identity, and foreign language business.  students also can benefit from interdisciplinary “languages across the curriculum” and service-learning outreach courses that extend the classroom beyond the traditional campus. students pursuing a french degree enjoy various careers in the fields of business, communications, education and government. many alumni can attribute their foreign language skills as the foundation for their continued studies in medicine, law, business, and academia.
