historians have long been fascinated by modernity and the societies to which it gave rise. the master of arts in modern history explores these changes, allowing students to work with internationally-renowned academics to investigate the political cleavages and cultural uncertainty unleashed by the great revolutions, the mobilizations and resistance of the two world wars and the transnational forces of empire and globalization.
the core module develops graduates understanding of key historiographical and methodological approaches and their skills in using relevant sources, while the dissertation provides them the opportunity to further develop their skills and apply their knowledge in an independent research project.
