Progression Summary

program description

exploring crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry, and molecular biology, amongst other fascinating subjects, this degree, designed to be one of the most modern and relevant of its kind, has been engineered to give students a broad understanding of the theory and practice of forensic science.

students will be educated by professional practitioners and industry-seasoned guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields, including forensic archaeology, anthropology, genocide investigation and toxicology. students will get to participate in multiple field trips and be taught in contemporary lecture halls and state-of-the-art labs where they'll use cutting-edge equipment. what’s more, this course is accredited by the chartered society of forensic sciences.

students can pick subject modules that suit their own interests and career ambitions in year two and three/four, and as this course shares its first year with bsc (hons) forensic investigation, students can switch courses at the end of year one.

to enhance their academic study with all-important work experience students will have the opportunity to complete a 5 or 30-week placement, which can be anywhere in the world. not only will this enhance their cv but it can also act as a springboard to help launch a career as a forensic investigator post-graduation, whether that’s with the police or working on the aftermath of devastations, such as those caused by fire, tsunamis, earthquakes, genocide or mass transport accidents.
