Progression Summary

program description

track i, 3-years (90 credit-hours)

this track is for applicants who have an undergraduate bachelor's degree in disciplines other than architecture. candidates to the 3-year track must earn 90 credit-hours and satisfactorily complete all required courses before a degree is granted.

nyit’s master of architecture is centered on our innovative studio, technical, and liberal arts courses where students develop a critical understanding of the overlapping territories in which architecture is practiced: new technologies, materials, and building practices; culture, history, and politics; and their impacts on patterns of new and existing built forms. as technology and architectural practice evolve, this critical perspective enables nyit graduates to offer design leadership that contributes to an increasingly sustainable built environment.

m.arch candidates develop fluency with evolving technologies for effective problem solving, experimentation and communication, in an environment where specialists in related disciplines work with common purpose. students will study with a faculty of distinguished scholars, professors of practice, and visiting faculty who bring unique focus and expertise.

nyit’s m.arch is a designated stem program, making its international graduates eligible for the 24-month extension to the optional practical training (opt) visa.

*meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission or conditional admission. conditional admission (pathway) is provided through nyit's recognized language schools. programs will close as soon as they are filled. enrollment may therefore close earlier than deadline dates."
