the career accelerator program, designed specifically for international students, includes four semesters of professional development and career guidance, skills-based training, exclusive internship opportunities, unique workshops, real-world experiences, and cross-cultural group work.

spanish has emerged as the second language of the united states, with over 20 million residents using it in their daily lives, making the us the fifth largest spanish-speaking country in the world. by 2050, the us is projected to become the largest spanish-speaking country. spanish is also spoken in twenty-one countries globally.

students pursuing a major in spanish have a wide array of course options and job opportunities post-graduation. the curriculum is designed to enhance critical thinking, oral and written communication skills, and provide a comprehensive understanding of the hispanic world’s language and cultures. the major progresses from basic language skills to advanced courses in conversation, grammar, composition, linguistics, literature, films, and civilizations of spain and latin america. applied spanish courses in business and specialized vocabulary for various professions are also available. the department’s faculty expertise covers a wide range of hispanic contributions to world literature and culture, preparing students for careers in education, business, social services, law, diplomacy, and publishing.
