program description

in the food, agricultural and resources economics major, students will acquire the analytical and management skills needed to develop the capacity to effectively deal with emerging issues and challenges, such as food security and sustainability. building on the understanding of economic theory and applied methods in both the canadian and world context, three thematic streams are offered for specialization: (1) food and agribusiness management, (2) international development economics, and (3) resource economics. 
students who successfully complete the program can continue their education with related graduate programs and/or enter the workforce through a variety of job opportunities in the agri-food industry, including within government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
