program description
students in the geography major will study and explore the interconnection of human activities and environmental systems both locally and globally. students will build specialty technical skills in spatial analysis and qualitative research, and apply them to 21st century challenges such as environmental degradation, climate change adaptation, ecological and community sustainability, social and environmental justice, food and energy futures. learning takes place in a variety of settings in the program. in addition to classroom settings, students learn through hands-on research in labs and in the field.
