the nutritional and nutraceutical sciences major is concerned with understanding the contribution of food, beverage and nutritional supplement consumption to growth, development of optimal biological function, maintenance of health, and treatment of disease. students will tackle nutrition-related problems in the food, pharmaceutical and natural health product industries. they will focus on the contribution of dietary intake to the growth and maintenance of biological functions. students will come to understand how nutrients, phytochemicals, toxins and food processing products affect the body. the program will prepare students to work in international health and nutrition organizations, government regulatory bodies and advisory agencies, or pursue related graduate studies.
