western michigan university's occupational therapy assistant program will prepare students to sit for the exam to become a practicing occupational therapy assistant. students will also be prepared for graduate studies if they choose to pursue their master's or doctorial degree in occupational therapy.
as an ota student at wmu, students will be exposed to unique learning opportunities and mentorships to develop collaborative partnerships with doctoral students. students will have clinical experiences with doctoral students, working and learning alongside them. it's valuable experience that will show when they enter the workforce.
students will also complete baccalaureate project before graduation. during that project, they will gain in-depth experience in administration, advocacy, clinical practice skills, education or leadership.
