Progression Summary

the bachelor of science in health science (hsc) program offers students a broad overview of the healthcare system. this program offers an interdisciplinary approach to learning about health sciences. students will be exposed to basic science courses as well as foundation courses that will prepare them for multiple careers in the health care field. students will also be prepared to apply to post-graduate programs such as physician assistant, pre-licensure nursing, and other practitioner programs.

as health science students progress through the program they are able to take advantage of small class sizes (20–30 students in major courses), close relationships with health science faculty and advisors, and peer tutoring support for all science courses. in their senior year, all health science students participate in a field experience supported by pace university’s career services department. through this field experience, students may participate in internships at area healthcare facilities or research in their field. 

note: students choose from three tracks—generalist, pre-nursing, or pre-physician assistant—and participate in areas of concentration in global health and/or health policy and advocacy.
