kinesiology is the bioscientific and sociocultural study of human movement. this involves studying the activity of muscles and the functioning, mechanics, and structures of the body parts involved in movement, as well as psychological, sociological, and cultural factors affecting physical activity and sport.

western's school of kinesiology allows students to pursue undergraduate and graduate programs from a variety of different perspectives and tailor their degrees to match their interests. students can focus their education on areas ranging from exercise physiology to sport management and have the opportunity to study with researchers who are leaders in their fields.

students studying in the school of kinesiology benefit from the atmosphere and resources of one of canada's largest universities, but have the opportunity to learn and grow in smaller lab and tutorial settings. many classes in the school of kinesiology are taught by professors, which creates an environment rich with opportunties for one-on-one learning and mentorship.

note: please note the english scores listed are minimum requirements. meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission. students with low english scores may be admitted to the english boost program, a 9 week training program for conditional admission to their chosen program.
