the two-subject history degree provides a high standard of training in history as an academic discipline and develops in students an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the history of africa and asia and combines it with the study of another discipline or language. intensive study of a wide range of arabic language and literature is a compulsory feature of combined-honours degrees in arabic. students are required to spend the third year of study at a university in the middle east.
