aeronautical engineers apply their knowledge and skills to every aspect of air vehicles; from design, development, manufacture, flight testing and certification, to preserving airworthiness and sustainable aircraft operations. this beng (hons) aeronautical engineering degree was developed in close consultation with industry professional bodies, including the royal aeronautical society (raes) and the institution of mechanical engineers (imeche) to boost your employability. you'll study the engineering principles needed for a career in the aerospace industry, and you'll gain practical experience on campus in our aerospace centre. weather permitting, you'll also take to the skies with flight test lessons in your final year. work placements and experience are strongly endorsed to complement your studies, along with visits to sites such as ge aviation wales, airbus filton, and british airways maintenance cardiff (bamc). the aeronautical engineering programme is based at treforest. usw treforest is surrounded by green open spaces. our students say they love the warm and friendly welcome and community atmosphere, as well as the convenience of living and studying in the same place. from listed buildings to new, modern structures, treforest reflects the university’s history and its ambitions. here you will find everything you need in one place - halls of residence, the library and sport centre, cafes and bars to eat and drink, and friends to spend time with.
