the human resource management msc programme will give you the professional skills and academic knowledge to manage people in challenging and diverse contexts. it is accredited by the chartered institute of personnel and development (cipd). the cipd is the leading professional body for hr professionals. it is the only hr institution in the world that recognises hr professionals through chartered membership. with over 160,000 members globally, it influences working lives around the world. this global programme also aligns with the standards of the american-based society of human resource management (shrm). this is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. our compulsory modules will give you a strong, critical understanding of the key issues in the field of hrm. you can tailor your learning by choosing from a range of specialist optional modules. this includes being able to pursue either a practice-based project or a dissertation. throughout the programme, you can gain valuable real-world insights from practice. in recent years we have hosted a wide range of guest speakers. they have shared their experiences, challenges, and career advice, bringing real-world insights straight to our students. they have included experts from: nigel wright sopost waythrough northumbria police p&g northumbrian water, williams f1 ey from global brands to high-performance teams and public services, their stories have sparked great discussions and fresh thinking for our students. the hr practitioner module offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with industry. you will also have the opportunity to apply for the business school mobility module. this is a non-credit bearing exchange opportunity. it will further enhance your skills and attributes to enter a wide range of global careers.
