this course is subject to approval for 2026 entry the ma screenwriting develops dynamic writers for film, television and other audiovisual media in the age of streaming. you will learn the business of screenwriting and hone your writing skills to generate successful content across genres, features, shorts and episodic formats. the course culminates in a sustained screenplay project you write under the supervision of an industry professional. we have been teaching creative writing, screenwriting and media and communications for nearly a half century. recently we have refreshed our curriculum with input from our alumnus, fikayo adeola – the screenwriter of the disney+ series iwájú. well situated in the heart of central london, our campus is steps away from the postproduction houses of soho. london remains a global capital for media and film, home to the uk headquarters of streaming giants, the british film institute, the london film festival, the bbc, and world-renowned production studios. our location provides proximity to industry – for guest speakers, work experience, and networking. award you can select to apply for one of the available exit points for this course. master of arts (ma) who is this course for? this course is for imaginative writers who appreciate visual storytelling across film, television and other audiovisual and are passionate and ambitious about navigating the media industries to get their work produced. our passion is launching careers, whether you seek to be the next michaela coel, phoebe waller-bridge, charlie kaufman, aaron sorkin and beyond.

ielts academic test with an overall score of 7.0, with no less than 5.5 in any subtest. toefl test with a score of at least 100, with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 17 in writing and 20 in speaking.
