**This course will run subject to approval** The Higher National Diploma in Applied Science offers participants three distinct pathways: - Higher National Diploma in Biology - Higher National Diploma in Chemistry - Higher National Diploma in Environmental Sustainability In the Biology pathway, you study specialist topics such as, Cell Biology, Anatomy and Human Physiology, Biochemistry of macromolecules and metabolic pathways, immunology and Genetics. In the Chemistry pathway, you study specialist topics such as, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, aromatic and carboxyl compounds and solid state and transition metal chemistry. In the Environmental Sustainability pathway, you study specialist topics such as, principles of ecology and their applications, physiological adaptations of plants to environmental changes, environmental monitoring and analysis and biotechnology techniques.
