Progression Summary

This multidisciplinary degree programme combines your interests in both accounting and management to gain a unique skills-set in both disciplines for a successful career. The accounting modules will give you a solid theoretical and practical accounting knowledge which is useful to examine and interpret financial performance, while management modules will cover the wide range of business subjects including strategic management, marketing, human resource management, corporate governance and sustainability. You will gain quantitative and management skills needed for strategic decision-making as well as how to manage organisations in dynamic environments. The degree could take you into the global world of multinational companies and international financial markets. Alternatively, you might choose to use the skills and experience to work in the public sector, or to set up your own business. Recognising the diversity of career paths available for graduates with both accounting expertise and leadership skills, the programme offers flexibility to take a range of complementary optional modules in other disciplines including banking, law, and sustainability. At Bangor Business School, we have a highly qualified team of leading academics with professional experience and interests in a wide range of accounting and business management topics including: strategic management, accounting and reporting, taxation, corporate communication, financial management, marketing, sustainability and human resource management. Our academic team is engaged in world-class research in accounting and management, and regularly works with policymakers in government, regulators and think-tanks. They are dedicated to bringing their insights from the world of policy, research, and professional practice to help you to develop your knowledge and understanding, and realise your potential as an accounting and management consultant.  ‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. You can find more information about these options on our website and if you have any questions, please get in touch. If you don’t have the required qualifications for this degree-level course or are looking to re-enter education after time away from study, then a Foundation Year Programme might be the right choice for you. Please see our website for details.
