We operate standard 3-year degree courses, accelerated 2-year courses, foundation level degrees and masters awards. On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance Course content Led by knowledgeable academics with a wealth of experience in this field, we’ll teach you about the economic environment and explain the fundamentals of financial services. As well as becoming familiar with accounting software, you’ll learn how to communicate with specialist and non-specialist audiences effectively. You’ll study management accounting, gaining experience in producing financial reports and interpreting data. You’ll learn about personal and business taxation, and get to grips with modern accounting software. We encourage students to undertake a work placement year to develop employability skills, gain invaluable practical experience and position you favourably for graduate roles. Our close links with many high-profile businesses mean we can help you secure your work placement. In your final year, you’ll cover problem solving and analysis in complex business contexts. You’ll also acquire research and data analysis skills in preparation for a financial research project, possessing the confidence to demonstrate your newly acquired skills in the workplace and make important business decisions. Placement year opportunities can be taken up between years 2 and 3 and our Workplace Learning Manager, alongside your course team, will be able to help and support you when exploring your placement opportunities.
