This programme has been designed in collaboration with regional industry partners such as Newcastle United Foundation, the Newcastle Eagles and Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation. The skills and knowledge gained in the course can be transferred across a range of sports coaching and development applications. As part of our work-ready guarantee, you will be provided with placement opportunities with our industry partners and will undertake ‘real’ work projects set by them. You will have the chance to complete a number of free additional qualifications, including a Level 1 coaching certificate/award, a safeguarding course and first aid. Previous placements have included working within community teams, school P.E. departments, sports coaching within professional clubs and local authority schemes. Previous graduates have gained employment within the sport and exercise sector as sports coaches or sports development officers. Academic progression is available through one of our one-year Honours (Top-Up) degrees. You may progress from this onto a PGCE or a Masters.
