Progression Summary

Immerse yourself in American and Canadian history, literature, art, music and film. and culture. Understand the impact of politics, religion, race and gender on America’s rise from colony to superpower. Nottingham is one of the few universities in the UK to offer Canadian studies as a named minor option. Our expert-led modules cover a wide range of North American history, literature, art, music, film and politics. You will encounter diverse approaches to reading, writing about and understanding the topics. This course will develop your independent thinking and team working, writing and research, and sharpen your career skills. Year three is spent in at an American or Canadian university, studying from a range of modules which complement and extend those already studied at Nottingham. This course is also available with a Foundation Year.
