Progression Summary

If you want to become a Chartered Accountant in the UK, study with us on our fast-track degree route. Our Henley Business School ranks 15th in the UK for Accounting and Finance (Complete University Guide, 2018) and 14th in the UK for graduate career prospects (Times/Sunday Times University Guide 2018). Developed in partnership with PwC and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), you will gain a strong academic and professional foundation in business and accountancy as well as complete a significant proportion of the work experience and technical study requirements needed to qualify as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. During the first year of the degree, you will study modules on accounting, business and finance, law and marketing enabling you to build your subject and technical knowledge. Work placements will take place in the second, third and fourth year and for each placement you can expect to earn a competitive salary, offsetting a significant proportion of your tuition fees or living costs. The placements in the second and third year will run for around 12-16 weeks and the fourth year placement around 16-20 weeks. The application process for this degree includes an assessment day run together with PwC. This involves a group exercise and an individual interview with Henley Business School staff and the PwC team. **Careers** As a graduate from this degree you will be approximately one year away from achieving full ACA Chartered Accountant status – putting you ahead of other graduates entering the accounting profession. Graduates who successfully complete the degree can also receive an offer of employment from PwC; there is however no obligation for you to work for them. Henley Business School has a dedicated careers team to ensure their students have the best chance of securing their dream job on graduating, and received the joint sixth-highest score for graduate prospects in Business, Management & Marketing[1]. As a graduate of Henley Business School you will join our global alumni network, home to more than 70,000 graduates in more than 150 countries.
