Graduate Pathway in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences
Program Summary
Students who successfully complete an INTO Mason Graduate Pathway program in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences are assured progression to a Mason graduate degree program upon submission of additional required application materials. Upon successful completion of an INTO Mason Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your second semester of graduate study at George Mason University. This transition from an INTO Mason Pathway program to a university degree program is called 'progression'.

Four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent in earth systems or science, geography, geology, civil engineering, computer science, computer and information systems, geomatics engineering, information engineering. 2.75 undergraduate GPA equivalent.
TOEFL iBT 80 (17 all subscores), IELTS 6.5 (6.0 all subscores), PTEA 59, Duolingo 110, TOEFL Essentials 8.5 (8.0 all subscores), or Completion of AE Core and OCS Level 6.
Geographic and Cartographic Sciences (MSc)
Minimum 3.0 GPA. B or better in all courses. No grades of NC, W, or IN permitted.
Statement of purpose. 1 letter of recommendation from GCS Faculty Advisor.
