Progression Summary

This Liberal Arts degree is flexible, allowing you to choose one of 13 majors from across the arts, social sciences and humanities. You’ll get to chart your own pathway but will be supported by your personal tutor to make the best choice. You’ll choose from a wide range of topics across our Arts & Humanities Faculty and from selected subjects in the Social Science & Public Policy Faculty. You’ll graduate from this liberal arts degree with skills that are highly desired by employers, including critical thinking and analytical reasoning, which are essential for evaluating complex issues from multiple perspectives. You’ll develop advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively. This Liberal Arts BA also fosters your interdisciplinary research abilities, allowing you to integrate knowledge across various fields. You’ll cultivate your cultural competency and ethical awareness, preparing you to engage thoughtfully with global and societal challenges.

For the Music major, A Level Music or Grade 6 Music Theory (through ABRSM examinations or equivalent). In addition, students with these qualifications wishing to pursue Music performance as a formal part of their studies and to receive individual tuition at the Royal Academy of Music will need to hold Grade 8 (ABRSM or equivalent) on their main instrument/voice by the end of their first year of study. There are no subject requirements for all other majors. Second year major subjects are selected after enrolment onto the programme. or Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels. Must include grade A in A Level Music for applicants wishing to pursue a Music major. See 'Required subjects'. Notes: If you are taking linear A Levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component.
