Progression Summary

Architecture is a dynamic subject involving a wide range of activities, from studio design and model-making, to the study of art, history and culture. It requires imagination alongside practical and technical skills. Central to this course will be the time you will spend in the design studio. You will have access to our extensive studio facilities - including workshop and computer-modelling software - in the award-winning Broadcasting Place, to design and build your projects. This qualification provides exemption from the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and RIBA Part I examination. The Leeds School of Architecture offers a Professional Experience and Development Record (PEDR) Monitoring Service for graduates with BA (Hons) Architecture, Master of Architecture (MArch) or similar degree. The PEDR is an electronic record of your professional experience, development and competency in the practice of architecture and will offer support on the pathway to registration or licensure, primarily with the ARB. **PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION** To become a fully-qualified architect takes seven years and we offer the professional body recognition allowing you to continue to further study in this field. You will need to complete a MArch (Master of Architecture) giving exemption from Part II of the RIBA Examination in Architecture. You will then complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Professional Practice, giving exemption from Part III. **ARCHITECTURE AND ART STUDIOS** Our studios provide space for individual and group projects and facilities include parallel motion boards, flip-top drawing boards, and letterpress and printmaking workshops. Our 3D printer and laser cutters can also be used for model making, plastic forming, plasma cutting and 3D sculptures. **DESIGN STUDIOS** Our modern multi-media studios include a dedicated CAD suite and specialist software, such as REVIT, allowing students to develop skills in 3D design and building information modelling.
