The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Architectural Technology for England (HTQ) is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them. The Level 5 units below provide a broad introduction to construction and different Architectural Technology functions. • Sustainable Methods of Construction. • Personal Professional Development. • Project Management. • Advanced Construction Drawing & Detailing • Group Project (Pearson-set). • Construction Technology for Complex Buildings Projects. • Advanced Building Information Modelling. • Advanced Housing Design & Specification The Level 5 Higher National Diploma provides a solid grounding in Architectural Technology, which students can then build on should they decide to continue their studies beyond the diploma stage. On successful completion of the Level 5 Higher National Diploma, students can develop their careers in the sector through: • entering Fulltime employment • gaining a Higher Apprenticeship (Architectural Technology) • continuing existing employment • linking with the appropriate professional body • committing to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) • progressing to university
