Applied Zoology ( Top up)
Progression Summary
This newly designed course will allow you to dive deeper into the principles of applied zoology. You’ll access a range of facilities including our extensive estate and farmland along with the dedicated biosciences laboratory. You will conduct your own individual research and write a thesis with support from your supervisor. Alongside this you will study a range of new modules such as Zoos and Aquaria in the 21st century (which investigates the current and future role of collections), as well as more traditional units like behavioural ecology. Assessment on this course takes place in the form of written assignments, presentations, reports, portfolios and exams. You’ll also conduct your own individual research and write a thesis which will be assessed. Careers: Following this course there are a range of exciting opportunities to move into employment in zoology-related positions. Potential graduate careers could include zookeepers, animal technicians, research assistants, conservation managers or policy makers, natural history collection technicians and much more. In recent years we've seen a number of our graduates move onto further studies at master’s and PhD level.
