Applied Equine Behaviour and Welfare (Top-up)
Progression Summary
This course will prepare students for employment in the performance and leisure horse industry in fields of equine training, equine behaviour management and behaviour rehabilitation. The scientific and behavioural theory underlying training techniques will be evaluated and combined with a development and understanding of factors which affect normal equine behaviour both on the ground and whilst being ridden. Students will also develop the necessary skills to assess a horse and implement a training plan to modify its behaviour. This degree programme embeds the accredited training course for the Society for Equine Behaviour Consultants (SEBC). There is an option to study this course part-time over two years.
