Progression Summary

Our joint honours course allows you to pursue your own areas of interest within Anthropology and Geography whilst also providing you with a solid foundation in the discipline and a range of personal and professional skills which will serve as a springboard for your future career development. The programme is carefully designed to enable you to gradually develop your knowledge and skills and to become autonomous, effective and independent learners. When you study Anthropology, you’ll explore what makes us human, what drives our diversity and how we’re connected to our environment. Geography is the study of space, place, society and environment and the ways in which they interconnect. Links between research and undergraduate teaching are an important and distinctive feature of the programme, and the combined research experience and competencies of staff have shaped its design, content and delivery. We are Top 20 in the UK: Anthropology and Geography is ranked 16th in the Guardian Anthropology and Archaeology subject league ranking 2025.
