The aim of this course is to provide a supportive environment for you to engage in a sustained development of your animation practice. You’ll explore a broad range of techniques and processes and will have the opportunity to engage in a range of studio-based practice, as well as specialist skills-based workshops, tutorials and seminar sessions that will build up your own animation experience and technical expertise. The practice based modules are accompanied by live briefs, site specific working, field trips and exhibition opportunities which give you valuable experiences as a professional practitioner. Our network of regional, national and international practitioners and animation companies such as Ardman, Arcus Studios, Novak, Atomhawk, YourFilm, Nowt Special, Artella, PhotoEspana have helped enrich our students experience whilst studying. Course tutors have links with several European universities that may give you the opportunity to work on international collaborative projects. Work placements are a key part of the course and give you the opportunity to put your skills into practice. The degree in animation will enable you to pursue a career in the broader creative and digital industries. There are currently 50+ job roles which are directly related to this degree including animator, concept artist, 3D modeller, storyboard artist, compositor artist and many others. You may also wish to continue your studies and progress onto an appropriate Masters Degree.
