Progression Summary
Working in the animal industry is an increasingly popular career choice. This one year course is designed for students wanting to work within the animal sector. It develops knowledge and understanding of the industry and individual animals as well as developing the research skills that are invaluable for working within a zoo or research environment. With strong links with Dudley Zoo, Brockswood Animal Sanctuary, The Owl and Falconry Centre and The Animal Man group, students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of work and animal experiences to enhance their learning throughout the programme. You will need to have UCAS points 64 through one of the following routes: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management (MMP or above) A levels, to include Biology or Access to HE Science. Plus GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above. Units include: Business Environment Animal Husbandry Management Animal Health and Welfare Research Project Animal Nutrition Anatomy and Physiology Principles of Ecology Exotics and the pet trade
