Progression Summary
This Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Biology and Wildlife Conservation brings together Animal Biology with Conservation. The effective conservation of species, ecosystems and natural resources is vital for future sustainable development. You will also enrich your knowledge by exploring wider topics such as rewilding, environmental issues, surveying techniques and the work of conservation organisations. After successfully completing this (HND) you may wish to consider enrolling for additional year of study on the BSc (Hons) Animal Biology and Wildlife Conservation (Top-up). We have very close and excellent links with local and international employers including many conservation groups, veterinary industry, RSPCA, Lion Aid, Orangutan Veterinary Aid, Wildwood trust, Kruger National Park, Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Howletts Wild Animal Park. Our students have recently undertaken animal enrichment projects at the parks to enhance the living conditions and enrichment for various species. This included: a sand and herb activity area for wild dogs, a feed distribution device to enable food foraging for anteaters and enclosure enrichment for the Baboons, Lions and Wild Boar and well as a high platform for the Tigers.
