Progression Summary

The MSc in Advanced Computer Science is intended for graduates who already have a first degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject, and who wish to extend the knowledge gained in their undergraduate study with more advanced specialised material reflecting current research at the “cutting-edge” of the discipline. The programme comprises a sequence of modules focussing on the research strengths of the department. The programme is directed at careers in the IT industry that require a degree of research and development. BCS The Chartered Institute for IT. This programme is accredited by the British Computer Society: - CITP (Chartered IT Professional) with Further Learning Elements - Partial CSci accreditation - Partial CEng accreditation This programme is accredited by the British Computer Society: - CITP (Chartered IT Professional) with Further Learning Elements - Partial CSci accreditation - Partial CEng accreditation This programme is also available as Advanced Computer Science with a Year in Industry MSc. The programme is organised as two taught semesters followed by an individual project undertaken over the summer. During each semester MSc students study a number of modules adding up to 60 credits per semester (120 in total). This will be followed by a dissertation, also 60 credits, making an overall total of 180 credits.
