Progression Summary
Get a head start on a professional acting career through practical, production-based classes and performing in our Grade II-listed, purpose-built theatre as part of our Acting degree. From day one, you’ll work on performance projects, building your acting skills. You’ll have the chance to learn from industry professionals through workshops, masterclasses, guest shows and appearances, and visiting lecturers. Our course is delivered in partnership with Middle Child Theatre Company and Prague Quadrennial. You’ll be joining a creative community in one of the most established Drama departments in the UK, working with students in Game and Graphic Design, Drama and Media Production. **Why study at Hull?** - Tap into our industry links: Our course is delivered in partnership with Middle Child Theatre Company and Prague Quadrennial, giving you a head start on making industry connections. - Gain real-world experience: Through practical and production-based classes, you’ll be learning on-the-job from the start of your degree – everything from voice work to theatre knowledge. - Learn from theatre-makers: Your teachers are active in the industry, from directing plays to working on virtual theatre resources, and bring their experience and expertise to their teaching. **Where could this take me?** Many of our graduates have gone to work for prestigious theatres and companies such as the Royal Court Theatre, the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and the RSC. Some have gone into broadcasting working for Channel 4, the BBC and Sky. Our alumni include playwright James Graham OBE, theatre director Marianne Elliot, musical director Martin Lowe, and the artistic director of London’s New Diorama Theatre, David Byrne. Hull graduates often come to careers events, sharing their experience.
