King's College London, University of London
Provided by: King’s College London

Program Summary

Module group of: Politics, Culture & Social Sciences Pathway If you’re particularly interested in politics, combining modules in global politics and economics will clearly focus your foundation studies and help you progress onto a politics degree. When you study global politics, you’ll be introduced to key political concepts and get a deeper understanding of current affairs. You’ll learn how to examine the development of the international system and consider whether globalisation is changing this while you also explore and critically assess the interplay between domestic and international politics. Meanwhile, in your economics lessons, you’ll learn all about microeconomics and macroeconomics. You’ll get a grounding in basic economic theory and develop an approach to economic understanding that’s closely attuned to the issues and challenges of today. These two subjects naturally overlap, as demonstrated by the specialist field of global political economy. This blended knowledge is desirable for a variety of careers in economics, politics, finance, government, international development and beyond. When you study economics and global politics together, you’ll also be eligible to apply for degrees in Politics, Political Economy, and Philosophy, Politics and Economics. You will study a total of four modules and you will be allocated either one of English for Academic Purposes or Academic Expression & Critical Thinking plus the Society module. Take a look at the Global Politics module and Economics module to see more details about what you will learn from each foundation module, and view the full list of recommended and eligible undergraduate degrees on the tabs below.
